Community Corner

Goodbye, Tampa Bay!

Thank you for your support, ideas and welcoming spirit during my time as a Patch editor.

Dear Patch Readers,

It’s been almost three years since I began an incredible journey to help bring online daily news and conversation to Tampa Bay. Today, I must report that my adventure with Patch is coming to an end. My post as associate regional editor has been eliminated as part of Patch’s reorganization.

Before I leave, I wanted to take a moment to thank each one of your for your support, story ideas and the way you embraced Patch as a place to share and receive information about your towns.

When I first launched Land O’ Lakes Patch in December 2010, I wasn’t quite sure how an online local news publication would go over with readers. But, Land O’ Lakes quickly took ownership of its Patch and helped me easily turn the site into a vibrant exchange of local information. I saw this same overwhelming response in the many other Tampa Bay towns I was later asked to serve as an associate regional editor.

Thank you for making the last few years absolutely amazing. From covering Vice President Joe Biden’s visit to Land O’ Lakes and helping organize a community-based food drive for Feeding Tampa Bay America to the many sleepless nights I was honored to stay up to help keep all 23 of Patch’s Florida communities informed during tropical storms, it has been an incredible journey.

I have loved every minute of my time with Patch and you. Thank you for making Patch and myself a part of your lives.

I hope you have enjoyed the last few years as much as I have!

At this time, you can keep using the Tampa Bay Patch sites to share your information, let others know about events and even post photos about what’s going on in your community. I encourage you to keep telling the stories that make our towns so great.

Thank you, Tampa Bay!
