Suncoast Hospice Veterans Liaison Receives Honorary Membership into MOAA

Longtime Suncoast Hospice veteran relations liaison Daphni Austin thought her meeting with Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) would be all in a day’s work.   But to her delight and surprise, members of the organization made her an honorary MOAA member.

Although Daphni has never been in a member of any branch of the US military, her tireless work on behalf of veterans earned her the respect MOAA’s members, a group made up of military officers and their families.

Notm Belson, a MOAA board member, explained why his organization chose to honor Daphni.  He said, “As you go through life, you meet some people who just work hard at their jobs – people I call true believers in what they do.  Daphni is a true believer and so special to our organization.  She is one of the finest people I’ve ever known.”
