The East Lake Eagles are champs again. East Lake High School's hockey team won the Lightning Conference Cup on Wednesday evening for the second year in a row.
The team beat New Port Richey's Mitchell High School 3-1 at the Tampa Bay Times Forum.
East Lake Senior Austin Teall scored two goals, including the game-winner.
“It’s a really, really excellent feeling,” Teall told the Tampa Bay Times. “It’s indescribable to come out and play so well.”
Teall scored the winning goal with less than eight minutes left to play in the game.
East Lake joins Manatee High School as the second team to win the championship twice, the Times reported.
