Fore! Golf Tournament To Swing Through East Lake

Proceeds from the tournament will benefit the East Lake High School golf program.

On August 10, the Eagles golf team will host a tournament at Lansbrook Country Club from 11:30 a.m. until 4 p.m.

According to East Lake's golf coach Matthew Kopp, the funds help with equipment, tournament fees and other necessities.

"We don't get any funding from the county for that kind of stuff, so this will help a lot," Kopp told Patch.

The 2013-2014 school year will be Kopp's first time as the coach of the golf team. The team had an impressive record last season, earning second in the district and fourth in the region.

Tournament registration is $75 per golfer and includes a four-person scrambler at 1 p.m. plus competitions like hole-in-one, par three and closest to the pin.

Prizes, carts and lunch will be included in the registration price as well.

All proceeds from the tournament will benefit East Lake High's golf program.
