Gen. Schwarzkopf, 78, Has Died in Tampa

Gen. H. Norman Schwarzkopf had retired to Tampa, Fla., after a final military assignment leading U.S. Central Command.

Retired Gen. H. Norman Schwarzkopf, 78, passed away today in Tampa, according to media reports. Schwarzkopf was best known to the American people for his leadership in removing Saddam Hussein and his forces from Kuwait in 1991. Schwarzkopf had successfully led an international coalition of U.S. allies to drive out Iraqi troops. "Barbara and I mourn the loss of a true American patriot and one of the great military leaders of his generation," former President George H.W.  Bush said in a written statement, according to ABC News. Schwarzkopf led what came to be known as Operation Desert Storm under President Bush. Obituary: Lola Lee Perez, Age 2

A funeral service for Lola Perez will be held Sept. 29. A fundraiser for her medical expenses will be held Oct. 13 at Peggy O'Neill's restaurant in Palm Harbor.

Lola Lee Perez, age 2, passed away Sept. 11. She was diagnosed with Alpers Syndrome in March after suffering a seizure. Alpers Syndrome is a degenerative disease of the central nervous system with no cure. "She was a beautiful and loving little girl and will be deeply missed. Lola is survived by her parents, Valorie and Benny Perez Jr. and her adoring big brother, Benny. We love you our little angel," her family wrote in her obituary on Curlew Hills Memory Gardens' website.    A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29 at Community United Methodist Church in Oldsmar, which is located at 207 E.
